Slam das Minas SP is a personal project in partnership with Slam das Minas SP to celebrate 1 year of existence. The group that supports poetry and female empowerment was founded independently in March 2016 by Carolina Peixoto, Luz Ribeiro, Mel Duarte and Pamella Araújo — inspired by a similar project in Brasília/DF (Brazil).

Initially the group was focused on bringing women together to perform slam, but soon after they realized its importance as an open space for women to express themselves respectfully, realizing their potential in society and finding their own voice. In addition to the battle, the collective seeks to experiment by accessing other spaces, such as music, theater, training, etc. Poetry promotes information, exchange and dialogue. Slam works to help women and trans people discover and explore these tools.
